Google archives (history) of sites?

I vaguely remember that google stores history of websites similar to this site:
http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

Can anybody provide me with a URL to the google site similar to the one in the link where I can find out how a website looked like 5 years ago and so on?

I think that the link you supplied is the one you want. Here's the entry for LQ -- J.W.

J.W., does that site provide the google archives of the site? I was just wondering. Because it claims to go way back to 1996...

I wonder what archives it uses to provide those history pages.

LQ.org's first page is quite interesting...

To my knowledge the "Way Back" machine is not associated with Google. Google caches a great deal of data, but I don't know whether it includes date-searchable copies of all websites. In terms of the original question though, for anyone who's interested in looking back in time at what a given website used to look like, the Way Back site is the one I'd use -- J.W.

usenet

Remember that now google owns usenet archives too. That meams a lot of years of messages.
