I'm wondering if anyone could recommend
a good, reliable Linux vendor with quality
CDs for US customers.
I've had some unpleasant experience with
general installation as well as "bad signature"
errors during additional package install from
a particular vendor, and they couldn't tell me
why other than just simply asking me to try
different CD drives or their replacement CDs.
But sadly, their replacement CDs keep failing,
and I don't want to keep asking for replacement
CDs repeatedly from this vendor.
Confusing question... What exactly are you looking for... Are you haveing trouble burning an install CD? Do you want some of the benefits from being a quote "club member".
I don't see a more reliable way to get Linux then to burn my own CD and just check the MD5SUM... It's as good as from any vendor...
Actually, after having my question posted, I thought
of exactly what you suggested; i.e. using some tool
like "md5sum" to check the CD qualities.
This is a sound advice, but I do not have the DSL/broadband
connection to download ISO images and burn them on CDs/DVDs.
Sadly, I only use dialup connection because I can't afford higher
speed Internet connection fee.
So, I though of asking around for good and reliable Linux
vendors that provide various distros on high quality CDs as
well as quality customer service.

I buy my CDs from LinuxCD.org. I have never had any problems with the service or the CDs. Shipment is from France so the mail takes longer than if it were mailed here in the U.S.
