Freezing, ctrl-alt-backspace does nothing and.....

Several times now my Slackware 10.2, KDE current system has froze and the only thing I can do is hit the reset button to reboot, none of the key combos work, but the funny thing is the Numlock, caps lock and, scroll lock lights on the keyboard Blink when the freeze ups happen. Is that a code of some kind?

What version of X are you using? What video card/video driver?

This kind of freeze can be caused by a load of different stuff.
I recently had a computer that was freezing with Linux a lot until my brother replaced the CPU with a different one. After that it didn't freeze at all.

Hey, you say that the numlock capslock and scrolllock keys are blinking? Like flashing on and off? Recently I tried slackware and messed up while installing it, so when I tried to boot it could not mount the root file system. It gave a kernel panic message because of that. But the relevant thing is; the numlock capslock and scrollock keys flashed on and off when I got the kernel panic message.
So, I believe you are experiencing a kernel panic.

Something to do might be to check /var/log/messages, to see if anything has been logged in that which might tell you what the problem is.
