Extra OS Suggestions?

I've currently got three hard drives in my computer, and one of them will soon be emptied as I move its contents (mainly divx movies and mp3s) to another machine. So I'll be left with a nice, new 40GB hard drive with nothing on it.

I'd like to use this as a chance to tinker with some different OSs. I've used most the the "Big Name" distros like Red Hat, SuSE, Slackware, etc. I'd like to try something a bit more unique.

Suggestions?

I didn't notice the Gentoo comment in the sig, I always look to the profile for that info.

Go to FreeOS.com and pick one that looks interesting.

Unununium must be off the beaten path.

I've actually been wanting to tinker with Solaris for a while, but I don't have the cash to pick up an old Solaris box. Do you know where (if at all) I could get an x86 version of Solaris?

Why not have a peek at how DOS has develloped in the past few years?
FreeDOS has come quite a way , as have several other DOS's.
