In the last 25 years I have bought 2 new monitors (on closeout), a new external USB drive, and a new keyboard. Everything else I have bought was a used computer (not refurbished) or used parts and I always merge the best parts of my existing equipment into my latest acquisition. I have bought roughly 15 PC computers over the last 25 years. The most computers that I ever ran simultaneously was 2. I was once given a free new tablet computer by Sony which I used for a couple of years.

In 31 years I've bought 3 new computers, 1 secondhand, and built one myself, so I could have ticked all the boxes but that didn't seem very helpful!

Have bought all three, Last was a CDRW/DVD-rom "combo drive" (10 dollars) and a HP vs17 (same price) almost 2years ago.
prefer new, but I have no qualms about using used.

I mostly buy new...beacuse I get given and find many 2nd hand machines. Currently I have 11 computers, and I only bought 1.....time to get rid of some of the old junkers.

'Refurbished' parts and systems I mostly aviod, as it can have various meanings. Ranging from 'returned to the manufacturer, tested and resold' all the way to 'found in a bin, dusted then sold'.
