Could this be iPhone *malware?*

I've got an iPhone G3, and over the course of the last few weeks, strange things have been happening ... it seems, "little by little."
  • One day, it stopped connecting to any wireless networks, anywhere. Protected or not. It can see them, it used to connect to some of them, and now it won't connect to anything anywhere.
  • The ring volume is getting quieter and quieter, until now basically you can't hear it ring at all.

Malware? Planned obsolescence?
