Bloody Hell

Well I finally got too frustrated with Slackware to deal with it anymore. I converted to linux on my main box to get a little more power out of my computer, problem is there are no good ATI Radeon drivers, and I cannot get USB to work with my KVM switch. So now I am back to Windows 2k and MAC OSX. I don't like Windows. I never have, and once the USB issues are resolved with Slackware I will probably dual boot it. I have to upgrade soon and I will stay with Windows 2000 because I have soooo many games and applications that use Windows.

I hate you Microsoft. Forcing people to go your way. At least I will never have to get Windows XP just to run a program.

That's too bad, you might consider using Mandrake or something a little less frustrating like Xandros. Anyway, good luck, and we'll see ya back when "USB support improves".

Cool

I don't see a question so moving to General, where rants and similiar type discussions belong.

Well after 12 hours of fighting with Microsoft Windows I finally got a version to work. I installed Windows 2000 and whenever I put my vid card drivers in it would not reboot. So I tried this with 3 different drivers and nothing helped. Funny, I had did this fine about a year ago. So I tried to install XP and this time it started a bunch of crap about the EULA not being on the PC. So then I formatted the hard drive and installed Win98, and then I installed Windows XP/Full install (never upgrade), and finally after 12 hours of frustration I got it working. Needless to say if something else didn't work I would have just quit. I installed DirectX 9 and am using all the Windows drivers to run my computer. My games run faster in Windows than linux cause I had to use Wine for compatibility, and my vid card never worked right in linux.
I really hate that gui look that presents itself to me everytime I boot up, and I really hate that I'm going to have to install WindowBlinds in order to get a look and feel I want, which will waste some of my resources, but my son if very happy that he can play his hotwheels game again, and it was worth it for him. I guess the real reason I did it was so he could play his game. I'll just have to get saving so I can build me a powerful computer to put win and lin in a dual boot so I can play all these games I've spent so much money on, and still have my nice friendly linux install to do my internet, email, and webpage building on.
