Given the antics of "social" media sites, I would not be surprised to see an increasing trend of such rulings.

One can hope, can one not?

Actually what I hope for is that copyright and patent law will get enough notice to be reviewed, modernized and made more consistent while actually complying to the original intent of such laws. Originally such laws are divided into two sections - one, where for a limited time ownership and monopoly on so-called "intellectual property" is legally protected creating incentive for expensive exploration and development, and second, when that protection ends and it becomes Public Domain so it can benefit all and stimulate spinoffs ... win/win.

There have long been serious inequities on both fronts but lately the inequity on the first has increased disproportionately. Corporations who have bought up copyrights now petition for ridiculously long extensions effectively ruining the value of becoming Public Domain as they wish to milk 100% of any value out of a thing before they let it go, exhausted and obsolete, of no use to anyone. It seems a case of The New Golden Rule - "He who has the gold, makes the rules". Balance needs to be restored.
