Talking A funny list of dumb laws in the United States

Which laws in your state is the dumbest?

check the laws >> http://www.crazylaws.com/

dumbest in Illinois >> "Dwarf-tossing," the strange practice of hurling dwarfs in padded suits, is outlawed in the bars of Springfield, Ill., because it's dangerous and exploitative. The practice is apparently allowed elsewhere in town, with a special permit.

An Illinois state law requires that a man's female companion shall call him "master" while out on a date. The law does not apply to married couples.

illegal to serve liquor to the feeble-minded.

Joliet: Town fathers, reflecting the pet peeve of hearing their town's name mispronounced 'Jolly-ETTE' when all local folk know it's pronounced 'Joe-lee-ETTE', made pronouncing it Jolly-ette a misdemeanor, punishable by a $5 fine. Offenders can be fined up to $500.

Kirkland: Bees are not allowed to fly over the village or through any of Kirkland's streets.

By law, anyone who has been drinking is "sober" until he or she "cannot hold onto the ground". <----i wonder if anyone has argued this in a court

• An excerpt from brilliant Kentucky state legislation. "No female shall appear in a bathing suit on any highway within this state unless she be escorted by at least two officers or unless she be armed with a club". The following important ammendment however is to be considered here: "The provisions of this statuate shall not apply to females weighing less than 90 pounds nor exceeding 200 pounds,

• Owensboro: A woman may not buy a hat without her husband's permission. One may not receive anal sex.
All bees entering Kentucky shall be accompanied by certificates of health, stating that the apiary from which the bees came was free from contagious or infectious disease. -KRS 252.130 (Passed in 1922; Repealed in 1948)

this is my old kentucky home

dont live in pa but this is a good law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Any motorist who sights a team of horses coming toward him must pull well off the road, cover his car with a blanket or canvas that blends with the countryside, and let the horses pass. If the horses appear skittish, the motorist must take his car apart, piece by piece, and hide it under the nearest bushes.

All laws are dumb because they try to take away the freedom of the individual.

Oh, please...
Sure, they take away freedom of individuals -- they take away the freedom of individuals who seek to do others harm and disrupt society.
Let's see how great life is when we break all the prisons and have all the rapists and murderers back on the streets, aye?
And tell me this -- how is your freedom being taken away? What practical act can you not do right now? Have you ever considered how laws actually preserve your freedom by keeping others who would infringe upon it themselves locked up? Sure, there are ridiculous laws in underdeveloped and more facistic countries -- Saudi Arabia, China, North Korea just to name a few. But from what I can tell, you live in none of these countries -- no, you live in a developed, first world nation where the laws in place do exactly the opposite -- protect you and preserve your own freedom.

These thread-jackers that take an innocent post and turn it into flame-bait are really making me mad. How about ignoring them and just going on with the original topic?

The law I certainly hate the most is the 3rd law of Newton and gravity... It's not even possible for light to escape a black hole (to those that think light lacks mass and angels are made of it). There's no hope for me as my soul still weighs 21 grams (7+7+7). God's plans are unknown. I'm sad.

I never really thought of that before. Does your soul get 'destroyed' if you fall into a blackhole?
But since the soul is suppose to be intangible thing, does this third law even still apply?

I don't know. Many things are intangible, even matter (mostly "empty"). We don't what they are but anyway something may still apply to the soul (given that it exists): karma, maybe, very chicken-egg thing though.
