So, enclose it plus you run the risk of never being able to deal with the heat?

Because she's older I'll sometimes cut my roommate slack (from picking on her) running the AC some days, though the humidity can make a big difference and too hot is too hot. Stay hydrated!

I dealt with dry ice for 25 yrs. in a lab environment.

No problemos.

Plus it does not add moisture to the air.

Where I live, you can get it at stores that make ice and dry ice.

Randalls used to sell it.

HEB has dry ice but you pay a lot for it. Any contact with skin or eyes can be a disaster. Consider ice instead.

"He told me that when the temp is in the 100s, the car a.c just can not keep up."
This isn't correct. What year is your car? If the car was designed for 134a then it should be OK. Take the thing to a real mechanic. The inside of your car ought to remain comfortable but you may have to have it on high and vents pointed to you.

I've lived in Texas and Arizona for almost 35 of years. I used to buy cars and trucks without AC in them cause they were cheaper. You can survive. Been a number of hot mornings going east and a number of hot afternoons going west in traffic.

As I said in post #12, I already took it to a mechanic.

My homemade car A.C. blew 60 degree air out.

Little disappointed.

Lady in video got 54 degrees.

I may try the ice packs that she used.

Did you try the salt, could be the blue ice ingredients? Also, if it's hotter out... did she say what the temp was before she started?

Have not tried the ice.

She did not say the temp of the air inside of her car.

I did find out that exposed ice produces lower temps.

I am freezing a chunk of ice in the bottom half of a gallon container to use in the ice chest.

I found dry ice for $1.25 / lb.

May try that.

I used dry ice at $6.50 U.S. dollars for 5 lbs.

I also had a large block of ice from the bottom half of a bleach container in the cooler.

The temp going out was 40 degrees F, and it lasted for 5 hrs.

And I had my car A.C. going as well.

I like the smoke coming out.

If a person's car had no A.C., it would be better than nothing.

I found it interesting that the block of ice had melted very little.

That tells me that it is VERY inefficient at lowering temps.
