Should my primary harddrive's MBR be safe as long as I install FC2 in my secondary hard drive's spare partition (where I have FC1)? (I'm upgrading from FC1). I use Windows' boot menu due to its simplicity.
I do this by using the following command:
dd if=/dev/hdb# of=/whatever_directory/bootlsect.lnx bs=512 count=1
where I barrowed my 2nd hard drive's /boot partition's boot sector, so I can add the file to c:\boot.ini and dual-boot between Windows XP or FC1. I used the Fedora boot disks only once to boot into FC1 and copy the boot sector.
This is the way how I install Fedora and configure dual-boot using Window's boot menu. But I'm worried about all this FC2's dual-boot problems going around. I should be safe as long as I don't install Grub in my primary harddrive's MBR, right?
