Unhappy "out of range" problem

Whenever I try to install Fedora (or RH 9.2) the last thing I see is something like "loading /sbin/loader/" and then I get "out of range" message on my neso LD500V LCD screen.
This happens in any install-mode I've tried (different resolutions and text mode)
I've googled for something similar and it seems like people usually have this kinda trouble with LCD screens but running the installation in text-mode solves the problem, but not in my case ;(
Is there a way to override sync frequencies ?

Did you try a generic crt 800X600 monitor? The later when you get linux working, you can change it

Hmmm... I've seen this error when a monitor is not able to run the resolution it's being fed or it's not getting any signal. It seemed like my installation was at 640 x 480 or some other huge resolution. I'm assuming you're LCD won't go down that low.

Another problem may be if your LCD uses a digital input (non-VGA) connector. I'm not for sure, but the installation may use a generic VGA driver, which may not include the digital input support.

I'd try to get a hold of CRT monitor to take care of the install and try to get the LCD to work after Fedora is setup.

Good luck,

- THX

Well i manage to solve the problem. i guess it had to do with ide or something ans the usb but when i tried the two and it worked i just did not get back to follow up which one of the two was the problem the linux option u have to add to the kernel to prevent those sbin/loader problem is to

1 - disable usb support totally in the bios and
2- add this option when installing your linux linux ide=nodma
apparantley dma was disable in fedora core 1 so there was less problems during the installation but with this one it was enabled so the kernel was trying to get drivers for u so it kept on hanging

that was what i did and it worked so for the best and long live linuxand fedora core
