Monitor goes into standby when trying to install FC5

I have FC4 installed and it has been running without any problems for quite awhile. I tried to install FC5 this weekend without any success. When I boot to the CD the installation screen starts up but when I hit return to actually start the install, the monitor goes into standby mode. I have tried to install with several options without any sucecss. I used the following options in many different ways: acpi=off noprobe skipddc noapic headless. I have a nVidia TNT2 video card which I have seen can be a problem but I haven't been able to find any information on the actual problem that I am having. Everyone talks about getting the correct drivers but I can't even get that far!!

Please help.

It sounds like the installer is entering a graphics mode that your monitor or video card can't handle (I've seen this before on ATI video cards). Try booting the cd with "vga=788" as a boot option. If that doesn't work, you'll need to do a text mode install.

Thanks. That was the solution. I did try text mode previously but it still caused the monitor to go into standby but the vga=788 worked.
