Modifying Fedora Core 2 install disk to correct P4P800 MOBO problem

I am running a 2.6 Ghz Intel P4 on an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe board with 512 megs RAM, a Seagate SATA HDD, Maxtor EIDE, and the rest isn't that important for now.

I have been trying to install Fedora Core 2 on my system. Currently I am running Fedora Core 1 and have been loving it. At any rate, I found there is a bug with Fedora Core 2 install on the P4P800 See Here . This bug causes a loop of rebooting while attempting to install.

Someone in the string of comments has come up with a way to work around it that involves modifying the diskboot.img file of the first install disk of FC2. I have however do not know how to create a bootable CD-ROM that will allow me to use the modified install CD.

Another issue is that I have to use a windows box to actually do the burning. Help on how to make an ISO image would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance.

if u put the linux cd in ur win machine and open a dos prompt
and then change directory to where the boot.img is stored
for example
d:/ cd images/dosutils
rawrite.exe
boot.img

to which this command should copy the boot up files to floppy which u can then use to boot up with instead of relying on having a bootable cd

creating an ISO image is simple eough but varys from cd burning program. U can usually find advice in the help files or google to ur cdwriting software
