Installing FC6 using SATA dvd-rom

I have an HP pc, with only SATA DVDROM and HD and no IDE. I've tried to install FC6, but the installation get stuck during the hardware inspection. It looks for and IDE controller, which does not exist in my PC.
When I try to install the FC6 using VMware, simulating an IDE HD and DVDROM, the installation is completed successfully.

i'm not able to start the installation process of fedora core 6 linux on Dell optiplex-745 configuration of the PC is pentium D 3.0 GHz processor, HDS728080-PLA 380 SATA hard drive, PBDS CDRWDVD-Rom DH48C2S. when i boot the PC With Fedora core 6 installation DVD provided with the book "fedora 6 & Red Hat Enterprise linux Bible". i'm struck with the start up message "ISOLINUX 3.11 2005-09-02 Copyright (c) 1994-2005 H.PETER ANVIN" & nothin is happening afterwards.
