Fedora 8 live cd does not recognize f7 installation

Attempting to upgrade to Fedora 8 using the live CD on a fedora 7 installation. Installer does not recognize the f7 installation. It just asks about disk partitioning options. Is there a particular spin I need to use for upgrading?

It should ask a screen or two before the partitioning screen for new installation or upgrade.

Are you not getting this option (excuse me if this sounds too basic)?

No, I am not getting the that screen. I just tried upgrading from a rescue disk, using an http mirror for installation media, but it hangs while determining package dependencies.

I reckon it's before tha partitioning. Does the live CD allow upgrade?

The Fedora 8 live CD does not allow for upgrades it just does a clean install. The DVD will allow an upgrade.
