Did you burn the DVD as an image or did you drag and drop? It should be burnt as a disk image.

I have a similar problem... I downloaded and burned dvd iso [with nero and yes all contents are visible] as an image... the fedora loader starts goes through language and keyboard choice but then an info appears that there is no cd containing packages in the drive... thinking the boot does not see dvds I burned liveCD version but the same problem appears
what can I do about this problem?

FC7 Dvd - not working?

I'm facing a similar problem and I tested in several ways. I had been using FC4, FC5, FC6 and a number of kernel versions with no problems in my system, but I just can't install F7.

I tried using the DVD full image, the Live CD and the emergency CD, all for F7 for i386. None of them work on my Matsonic MS7308E machine, but the disks seem to work fine in two Dell machines where I could even do a full boot from the Live CD, so I know the disks are fine.

Yes, I also tested the ISO image after downloading and tested the media after burning.

The first error I get in my Matsonic system with any of the disks is:
"vesamenu.c32: attempted DOS system call"
It seems that the video is card is just not compatible with F7.

So I try a text installation using "linux text", but the PC just freezes. With the Live CD, I get similar behavior but with some interesting messages:
"ata2.00 exception ..."
"ata2.00 cmd ..."
"ata2: port failed to respond..."
"ata2.00 revalidation failed..."
It looks like my parallel ATA system is incompatible with F7.

Are there systems that just can't load F7 installer?

I had the same problem again with Fedora 8.

By looking at the configuration file in the CD, I found that I could get past the vesamenu problem by typing "linux" or "linux0" depending on the CD or DVD.

Later, I connected the same DVD drive to another IDE port, and this time the "ata2" errors did not appear. I also connected an older CD drive to both IDE ports and found no issues with "ata".
