Dear All,

Please clear my following doubt.
I am using FC 6 in my dual boot HP Laptop with Microsoft Window Vista Home Premium in Drive c: . Because of some problem, i want to reinstall Win Vista. My doubt is that if i uninstall Vista and reinstall it will my FC6 will work again (without deleating and reinstalling FC 6)?

When you reinstall Vista, you will not have to reinstall Fedora.
But Microsofts aggressive installer will overwrite your GRUB in the MBR (your bootloader will not start).
You only have to reinstall grub.
This is done by booting from the Fedora Rescue CD and mount the drive, chroot to it and then type grub-install.

Having troubles with doing this, I will be glad to help you.

FC6 in dual boot laptop

Hi deadeye,

I want to install FC6 into my HP laptop with AMD Turion™ 64 X2 TL-50 Dual-Core Processor. I have two questions:

(1) what kind of FC6 supporting architecture should I choose: x386 or x86_64?

(2) if I want to creat a dual boot of both Windows Vista and FC6 how could I go by to make it work? Could you kindly provide me with some simple procedures that I could follow?

I am no expert in Fedora nor in Window Vista. Any input would would be welcome.
