Hi all

A few days ago i reinstalled win xp, which deleted Grub. I reinstalled Grub a few hours ago fine and everything was ok. Then I shut down the system, and now X won't start It gives me an error msg that X wasn't able to start or s.th like that. Could anybody tell me how to get it back? And I will never ever reinstall win again I'll get rid of it at most

Maybe if you posted the error messages somebody could help you fix the problem. A lot of people here are pretty good, but only one or two are clairvoyant.

Hmm, strange... I went back to copy the error msg. It said that 'failed to start the x server. it is likely tthat it is not set up correctly'
Then it took me to see some configurations, then to a shell to change them. and at that point it started. hmmmm

That's good. Sounds like a close call. You take this as a sign and begin a regular routine of backing up your system. Next time it might not be so easy!!!
