Windows 7 wont boot up after installing Fedora 15 (Windows 7 already installed)?
I installed Fedora 15 Via CD onto a Windows 7 PC. When installing for partioning I selected for it to use the empty space. It installed and everything. When turning my computer on, I have to press a key, and to boot windows I have to select: "Other" It brings up the loading screen, and stops, then flashes blue and some text real quick, and restarts. How can I fix it so it boots?? Im new to Fedora, but not to linux and computers. This is my parents computer, so Its vital I at least get some of the files because they have important files on the hard drive.
1 or 2 or more hard drives ?
Where did you but grub?
Is there still a "recovery "partition on sda? from the OEM ?
did you install grub to the MBR of dsda?
or the first linux partition?
IS the mbr ware windows "c" drive is ?( sda1)?
Did you use all default settings on fedora 15 ? or a custom install ?
on and on
My Crystal Ball fell and broke -- so i can not read minds.
I didnt follow the instructions of the documentation. The repartitioning was part of the setup. One hard drive, Im not sure, if I recall right it didnt ask where to place it, There is a 16 GB recovery partition, not sure. But I know the drive changed. The drive for windows was originally C:/ and when trying to repair it, it said drive D:/ Perhaps its trying to boot windows from the wrong drive, without the files? How would I change the drive back to C:/ ?
Windows 7 wont boot up after installing Fedora 15. When I try to boot Win7, the loader screen appears for a second, gets stuck and then suddenly a blue screen flashes for a fraction of a second (wasn't able to read what was on it) and then the computer restarts again.
I never read any installation instructions before or during the installation of Fedora 15
Below is what I got when executed the 'fdisk -l' command
