I might decide to install Fedora Core 4. From time to time I like to experiment a bit with my computer. If I do decide to install, I'm wondering what the chances are of it recognizing my internet connection and having internet access right away after I boot to the desktop.

I tried a dual-boot scenario with Windows 2000 and Fedora Core 4 awhile back, but it did not work. My machine always booted into Windows, and at this point I would not even bother trying it again.

I have a broadband wireless connection and am using a D-Link DI-604 router.

Well with a little bit of time and effort there shouldn't be a problem with getting your internet connection to function properly. I do not believe it would work automatically after the install just due to the nature of it being a wireless connection, especially if you have any sort of encryption or passwords. Just give it a shot, post your results/questions and we can take it from there. Never give up

Before you try it you can download the Knoppix Live CD and have that ready. I have used that on many wireless computers and I can always get online. That way you can get back on here to noodle through your problem if it doesn't work.
