Why won't the mouse work?

I have just installed fedora 8 on my spare PC, and rebooted after the installation was finished. Everything appeared to be fine at first, but when it got to the setup part, the mouse did not work. I tried both PS/2 and USB mice, and no go. Any suggestions?
