What is the command ??


I want to run the command startx and have the output or errors to be moved into a text file called "bug"
I thank this is the way to do it , but it isn't working,
startx | > bug
but i'm missing something, what is it?

Just "startx > output.log".
If you want to capture stderr as well as stdout then use "startx 2>&1 > output.log"
