He wants you to post a screenshot of GParted showing your partitions. To resize in the manner you indicate, you would need the space to be contiguous which isn't likely since sda2 is a primary partition and sda7 is a logical partition (if a standard install the third logical partition). You might take a look at the GParted Manual at the link below on resizing under "Advanced Partition Actions". Post the screenshot first as there are too many unknown variables.
It would help to see how the drive is partition to know what steps are required any possible complications. Unallocated space is "moved" by changing the other partitions size and start location.
Because moving is a fairly high risk maneuver I suggest backing up any and all important data on your drive. Without knowing exactly how many partitions exist in theory I would move the 11GB to the end of the extended partition by moving logicals >sda7 if it exists to the left and shrink the extended down. Move the extended partition and any other primary to the right so now the free space is at the right side of sda2. Resize sda2 and its filesystem.
thanks for the reply, But I took the COWARDLY way out, since Linux was a new install on this dual boot laptop, I use gparted and took out the Linux partitions and then resized the sda2 and added 10gb to it. and now I have Linux Reinstalled and working.
OL GOD I hate WINDOWS.
But I'm having to use it because a 680mm Drone/Multicopter I'm building has to be programmed in Windows .
