update from fc1 to fc2

i'd like to update my system.
should i reinstall fc2 from the beginning (loosing all setting and former apps installation)?
could anyone sugest me some good documentation to properly handle this issue?

dude,

Start the installation like you would normally, FC2 installation identifies that an older version is present, gives you an opportunity to upgrade.

Backup you stuff before attempting any of this.

I upgrade from RH9 to FC2 without any problems. Of course, I asked it not to format any of the partititions.

Isn't it also possible to use apt-get to do the upgrade??

Be sure to search the Web for any upgrade tips and tricks as the transition to ALSA requires (or may require) a few manual corrections in config files, e.g. /etc/modprobe.conf. Else you won't get happy with an upgrade to FC2.

I have not tried apt-get.
But I have used up2date utility to update my kernel from RH8 to RH9.
