Trying to get Seagate FreeAgent Drive mounted in Fedora 8

Ok I am new to Linux and I have a 500 gig FreeAgent Drive, which has 300-350 gigs worth of movies and music on the drive. i have always used this drive with Windows but vista has crashed on me and i dont want to spend the money to get a restore disk. Any way when i connect my drive it says it is unable to mount i have search the internet for bout 2 days now looking for solutions but have found little to help me. Any and all help will be apperciated.

thanks

on fedora as root make a folder in /mnt called windows and install ntfs-3g ( not installed by default in fedora 8 )

yum install ntfs-3g

plug the drive into the cable and reboot then run
Code:
su -
root password
mkdir /mnt/windows
fdisk -l
-- in this output should be the drive , most likely sdb?
-- if it did not auto mount then
Code:
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdb? /mnt/windows
-- replace sdb? with the drive number
