switching to KDE using switchesk kde FC4

I log on as root and type 'switchdesk kde'. I get 'Desktop now set up to run KDE.' When I reboot I'm still in gnome. I am using FC4. Any ideas why.

TIA
Vince

Yes, using the GUI log on the default is to the last Desktop used. Select the KDE choice first before entering your password.

Please quit logging on as root, you have no reason to do so 99.9999% of the time.
Learn how to use sudo, su and run as a different user when you need to do something that requires root level permissions.

FYI: Your profile needs to be updated for the Distribution.
