Some problems with fedora


Hello

I have just installed fedora, and I want to solve some these problems, I am very new to linux weather , plz give me solutions step by step in easy way to perform all these taks.


1.My HP3325 printer is not working with fedora .

2.My USB Flash Drive not working with fedora.

3.I want to use c++ programming, what i do in fedora for it.

4.I want to programm Java , and want to use Textpad for programming jave, what should I do .


In Start I want solution of these problems, then Fedora could be my OS.

For the printer, you can set it up by using the /usr/sbin/printconf-gui program. You have to be root user. This is the only way I know how to set up printer support with fedora.

I never played with USB devices before except for the USB mouse. The kernel has to be compiled to support USB storage devices and I think the default kernel has that.

You can compile C++ code with the gcc compiler. The compiler can be run using the following command at the shell prompt, "g++". Type "man g++" at the shell prompt for more information.

I think TextPad is a windows only program. You may have to run an emulator such as wine or vmware to make it work with windows. If you really want to learn how to use Linux, I recommend using a traditional UNIX text editing program such as EMACS or vi.

for the USB drive run a google search on how to identify and then add the correct lines to your /etc/fstab file and the right directories.
I know that FC1 does not auto mount but once the /mnt/whatever and dev/sda1 (or whatever it is) is added you can right click to mount the drive.

Find the tutorial on google, it worked for my digital camera.
