or how I make a 32bit skype work on 64 bit Fedora 12 .
am getting the below error
Quote:
peeths@Peeths001 ~]$ skype &
[1] 3782
[peeths@Peeths001 ~]$ skype: error while loading shared libraries: libXv.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I don't think there's a 64bit version of Skype (yet?) but the 32bit version should run if you install the needed libraries. It's not a 'nice and clean' solution, but might suit your needs. Check out this thread for more info.
yeah that might work. But there might be conflict and also I am not sure that will that cause any issue with the other apps that are currently working . Like Empathy and all ............
I'm not sure about this since I only recently started with 64bit Debian but aren't the libs in a 64bit specific directory structure like /usr/lib64 or something like that? If that's the case then installing 32bit libraries shouldn't cause any problems when running your other apps.
