Search Box History List

When I'm not sure of the exact web address of any business or organization, I'd type the name in the Serach Box (in the upper right corner of the screen) and click on "search". Over time, the search list grows astronomically. My question is: How do I delete the entire list or eliminate items on the list that are no longer needed?
