Permissions problem comes back!

I tried to upgrade FC2 to FC3 with apt... sufficed to say, it didn't work out. I'm re-installing FC2, and I'm in the process of re-installing frozen bubble, lbreakout2 and viruskiller, I find that I can only run the games from the command line as root. When I type in "lbreakout2" as a normal user, I get:

LBreakout2 2.5.1
Copyright 2001-2003 Michael Speck
Published under GNU GPL
---
Looking up data in: /usr/share/games/lbreakout2
Looking up custom levels in: /home/psasak/.lgames/lbreakout2-levels
/home/psasak/.lgames/lbreakout2.conf: file not found
Couldn't open /usr/share/games/lbreakout2/gfx/win_icon.png
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)
STK finalized
SDL finalized

I get even more gibberish from typing "frozen-bubble" at $:

Clicking on the icon does nothing - that's why I'm trying to run the application from the command-line to get a little feedback...

I realize that I've got a permissions problem going on, and I know I resolved this problem one time (at least) before... But, for the life of me, I can't remember how.

Both games start fine after logging in as root - and I don't want to do that - I just want the icons in the "Games" group to work as they should for a normal user. I added my username to the "games" group and the "users" group in /etc/group - to no avail.

Can someone help, as I am down to my last few strands of hair to pull out???

Thangew!
