running out of free space

Hey,

I've been using linux for about a year now, so far ive tried out many distribs, but with fedora ive run into a fairly big problem - hard disk space.

Heres my partitions:

Disk /dev/hda: 40.0 GB, 40007761920 bytes
16 heads, 63 sectors/track, 77520 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 = 516096 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 70221 35391163+ 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda2 70222 77520 3678696 83 Linux

Disk /dev/sda: 250.9 GB, 250999209984 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30515 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 12780 102655318+ b W95 FAT32
/dev/sda2 12781 30515 142456387+ 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 12781 13031 2016126 82 Linux swap
/dev/sda6 13032 20806 62452656 b W95 FAT32
/dev/sda7 20807 30515 77987511 83 Linux

Windows on hda1, fedora core 2 on hda2 (/). hda1, sda1 and sda5 are all mounted. I'm wondering what to do with sda7. Is it possible to also mount it under / as extra space, or will i have to mount it somewhere else? Im not going to try anything until i get a reply, incase i do something stupid.

Hope any of you guys can help with my space dilemma.

make a temporary directory /tmp/test
use the following command
$ mount /dev/sda7 /tmp/test

check whether it is mounted using "mount"
$ mount

you can replace /tmp/test with the directory of your choice.

For getting mounted automatically on system boot,
update /etc/fstab similar to /dev/hda2.

ok, it mounts ok using the commands you gave, i just have the task of deciding where to allocate the extra space. like i said before, will it be possible to mount it under / as well as hda2? if not, i could really do with some personal opinions to where the space should go.
