rsync problems

I am trying to run rsync to backup a folder from one local PC to another. I am trying to use the command as follows:

rsync -uavz /cge 192.168.0.102:/cge

to backup the newer files from the local PC to another PC to the same folder name. When I run the command, I get nothing for a while and them the following message:

192.168.0.102: Connection refused
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes read so far)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(165)

I can use ssh to log into the other local machine using the same IP address.

I cannot find any information to help me with this, any help would be appreciated!

Bob

Hi Mr,
For rsync work without problems, you need to be capable of execute remote commands, without login in the remote machine. I don't know very well about ssh; normally I use rsh and the test I do on my systems is:
rsh 192.168.0.102 echo
I guess you can do the same with ssh. If your network are properly configured to accept remote commands, in this test you will have a blank line as response. Otherwise you will get the "connection refused" in the local machine and a report in the "/var/log/messages" or "/var/log/syslog" reporting the incident.

"rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes read so far)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(342)"

have FC1 with rsync-2.6.2-1.1.fc1.dag installed
