it seems that redhat (fedora i mean) cannot find your host..
have u changed your computer name?
check /etc/hosts file if your hostname exits in this file. to see your hostname type "hostname"
i got the same error when i changed my hostname. to see whats wrong in conf files run ./named-checkconf in /usr/sbin. this tells you errors in your named.conf and rndc.conf files. mine said that rndc.... is already used or something like that. i removed the "-" in the rndc.key file. or if you have already put the usual rndc stuff in your named.conf and rndc.conf, it will put another rndckey in your dns keys. if your using webmin for configuring bind, it's a lot easier... go to dns keys and there you will find two or more identical rndc keys. rename them like rndc.key, rndc-key or better yet just leave one. start named and reload rndc (just to make sure). and this should work (it did for me) sometimes reboot is needed. remember before changing hostnames when running bind, stop named and rndc first.
I tried adding this line, to my iptables file and restarted iptables with no luck. iptables starts fine, but i am still getting the error when i try to restart named
"/etc/init.d/named restart
Stopping named: rndc: connect failed: connection refused
[ OK ]
Starting named: [ OK ]
"
my rndc.key file was empty in my /var/named/chroot/etc/ directory
copied the rndc.key file that was in my /etc directory to /var/named/chroot/etc directory and all is well....
make sure all your files there are correct and atleast have something in them
