Restoring DHCP Network Connection (FC9)

Okay, so I feel like an idiot. I was playing around with the network settings on my FC9 workstation (wired to a DSL router which provides DHCP) trying to switch to a static ip from the dhcp which I'd selected during OS installation. Now, it doesn't seem to matter what I select or do with the Sytem-->Administration-->Network Configuration utility, the network connection stays dead. I have changed the eth0 device settings back to DHCP and clicked on the Activate button. I have rebooted several times. The little network icon next to the clock has a red x on it indicating there is no network connection. If I right-click on that icon, I see an option for Enable Networking, which is checked. I had to add a wired connection at from the Network Connections screen which is launched from that icon by selecting the "Edit COnnections". With or without the entry that I created, I still get no internet.

Any ideas what I should do to get my dhcp connection restored?

Thanks

Can we please see the content of the file:
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

Also, is there an alias eth0 line in /etc/modprobe.conf?

Reinstalling the OS

I decided to just reinstall the OS. I'm making some hardware changes anyway, so this should be the simplest way to get my network connection running again. If I do try to make a change from DHCP to static IP again, I'll be sure to note the content of those two files before attempting any changes again, so thanks for the tip there. If it breaks again, I'll post back the before and after content for anyone that might care. Thanks.
