replacement of a ssl certificate

Does anyone know of a good "How to" for making a re-key/replacement of a ssl certificate...

dedicated Server is:
Fedora 10
Apache
bind
openssl

I had a godaddy cert. that worked fine with no browser errors but the date expired.
I got the a new godaddy cert but now I have cert errors cuz the date is expired on the old key (I guess).

This is my first cert replacement and I am lost any help would be appreciated...

also if there is anyone out here who would like to trade some web-space for maintaining my server drop me a note... I had a heart attack and can not really handle maintaining the box... it is up and running with 6 websites, mail, ftp, ssl, firewall, denyhost, etc. I can handle the sites but would love to find someone to handle the box...

Good to hear you're recovering and I hope you'll find a trustworthy and dependable admin soon. For the SSL certificate this should work:
- Copy Godaddy certificate and your (CSR) key into any dir of choice, say /etc/certs. (If you didn't need to generate a new CSR then you use your "old" CSR key.)
- Open /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and check for:
# Issued certificate.
SSLCertificateFile /etc/certs/certfilename.pem (or .crt)
# CSR key.
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/certs/keyfilename.pem (or .key)
- Save config, restart Apache, test.
