Read-only drive?

I am totally confused here. I am running FC5 (when did 6 come out???). I just transferred files FROM Windows to my Linux box. When I tried to delete the files as root I received a "rm: cannot remove `rzr-2142.iso': Read-only file system". The permissions are set fine. The entire drive somehow changed to Read only which I cant figure out how it happened. I cannot delete anyhting on this partition. The funny thing is, this is a 160 gig hd partioned right down the middle and the other partion is fine as far as deleting files. The FSTAB file shows the same setting for both partions.
Help!!

if your on a non-NTFS filesystem and the drive is read-write then you shouldnt have any problems as root.. can you verify these things again?

This is a vfat filesystem...My Win box is NTFS. I have always transferred/deleted from Win to Linux w/o any probs.

in a console run the command 'mount' and post the output. also specify which partition is which (ex. /dev/hda2 is windows, etc). also post the output of 'ls -l [filename]' where [filename] is the file your trying to copy

/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 on / type ext3 (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
/dev/hda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/dev/hdb5 on /mnt/win type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,umask=000)
/dev/hdb7 on /mnt/xp type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,umask=000)
none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)
sunrpc on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw)
automount(pid1750) on /net type autofs (rw,fd=4,pgrp=1750,minproto=2,maxproto=4)

This is the partition that I transferred files TO:
dev/hdb5 on /mnt/win type vfat

Here is the file info:
[root@darco Files]# ls -l rzr-2142.iso
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3525345280 Nov 24 11:47 rzr-2142.iso

I am now trying to delete the file. I have already copied to my Linux partion.
