Problem with my fedora core cd's

I seem to have a problem. I started fedora core cd installer from the bios thing, but then the stupid 'druid' wouldnt partition, so I had to restart and go to windows and use my partition magic to manually partition it. (stupid druid)

But then, when I restarted and put my bios to boot from cd, it wouldn't boot from the cd, and went to windows. I was eventually forced to make a boot disc for FC1 and it worked. But then it wouldnt detect my cd, I knew it SHOULD because It did detect it before, but now it doesnt. So I installed from my HD, but now, when I put in any of the cd's for FC1, it wont mount them, saying there is no medium or something like that.

I dont THINK it is a CD problem because it worked the FIRST time but not after.

And I have a feeling I dont have all of FC1 installed, because I read somewhere it came WITH Xmms whereas I had to download and install it myself. Is it ME?

And then when I tried to put on the Python tools RPM, it wants the third FC1 cd, and when I put it in, it didnt detect it.
?
Is it me and my curse with Linux, or is it my cds? Or is it my Iso's?

Id be happy if any of you could tell me what I am doing wrong....

BTW: I have a 1.7 ghz 256 Rambus 2 40 gig maxtors and a lg cd drive. I also have a scsi burner but for some reason it cannot be booted to...

try this

go here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=153185

You may have to reinstall everything. But first:
erase and reformat the Fedora Core 1 partition with partition magic 8.0. Be sure to use the delete and secure erase option.you will need to restart using the windows xp disc and run the recovery utility. Choose the fixmbr option. restart. then follow the directions in the above post. Hope this works for you.
