Problem with installing fedora 17

hi there,
i'm a big fan of fedora and i'm using it since f9. i've used fedora 15 for quiet a long time and recently planned to upgrade to f17. but with installing it, i'm facing a weird problem which i didn't face before.

i started installing f17 (fresh install) through the dvd version. when the installation starts, it gives the msg:

rpcbind terminating on signal. Restart with "rpcbind -w".

then the display becomes smaller and and goes to the top left corner. it stays for a few minutes and then the installation starts in full screen. the installation process goes as usual without any problem. the formatting, selection of packages and the installing files finishes smoothly. then it prompts for the nest setting, like the username and password and then the problems start.

in that white screen (where we pick username, select time etc), the right end of my display comes nearly middle (a little on the left side) of my screen. so the reboot button comes at the bottom left and if i move the mouse beyond the right end of my screen, it enters the display from the left and goes till the visible right end of the display. i fill up the forms (the key strokes work regularly, no issue with that) and press reboot.

the reboot completes and then i get a background image and get stuck there. there is no other login window or anything. the visible right end of my display stays at the nearly the middle of the screen and i can move mouse cursor in the same way as above, but there is nothing more to do.

my system config are below:
motherboard : intel
processor : intel core 2 quad
hdd: 320 GB sata
ram : 2 GB
graphics card : amd radeon sapphire hd 6570

i hope i have made my problem clear to you. since yesterday, i've tried to install f17 several times (clean install everytime) and the same thing happens every time. i'm really getting frustrated and going back to f15.

but i really wanted to try f17.

does anyone have any solution to my problem? pls suggest.

thanks in advance.

No solutions I am afraid but any reason why you are not looking at F19 which is due for release today (or tomorrow depending where you live)?

I would try either a text install from the DVD or try doing an online upgrade with FedUp https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedUp.
I believe from 17 you will be able to skip to 19 tomorrow as I think Fedora still lets you skip a release.

Fedora 17
-- first do not install 17
It will be hitting it's End Of Life in 30 DAYS
unless you want to "test" the very NEW fedora 19 .I would install fedora 18
then in 90 days install fedora 19
then 6 months after that install fedora 20 ( 90 days after fedora 20 comes out)

there is no dependable way to upgrade fedora 15 to 18 ( nor 17 or 19)

back up data
reformat the drive to ext4
do a new clean install of Fedora 18

hi,
i tried using the text mode but same thing happens with the display. although i dont know much about the text mode, but finally could install it and the loading display gave the same result.

i've read reviews about the new anaconda 2 on fedora 18 and got a little bit scared to try it. anyway, i'll give fedora 19 a try once it comes out.

but i don't understand what is causing this display problem of mine. i've never faced anything like this with fedora ago. is it something with the graphics card? fedora 15 is working perfectly fine with the same graphics card.
