problem with ifconfig command


when i use these commands

ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 up

After that i can not access to Internet but if i use the deactive/active function through graphic interface (System - Administration - Network) everything is okay.

Can anybody explain it to me pls.

maybe you may try using 'dhclient' command after ifconfig eth0 up

yeah, but one more time when i down and up eth0 and then run dhclient the error happended "dhclient(7518) is already running - exiting". I had to kill dhclient and run it again.

Do you know how to make dhclient run and exit automatic.

Well, try running dhcd once (don't remember, how it is called, some daemon, starting with dh and not dhcpd, tab completion will help you), or not killing dhclient but running it once. Maybe One of that will manage to get address each time.

I'm sorry but it didn't help with dhcdbd. After I run dhclient it still remain as a running proccess (ps -e | grep dhc).
