Problem

Hi folks,

Fedora Core 3
KDE desktop
Login as USER

I encountered following problem on setup KPPP on this box

KStart -> Internet -> KPPP
Keying in ROOT passwork

KPPP login screen started but both "Login ID" and "Password" items greyout. I was unable to type in entry.

Please advise. TIA

did u configure ur modem with the configure option there in kppp
or that is also disabled???

The configure option on KPPP login screen is working. I was allowed to input entry of ISP detail but I can't configure the modem making it work. I tried selecting respectively

/dev/ttySO0
/dev/ttySO1
/dev/ttySO3
etc.

none of them can detect modem. It is quite strange. The modem is an external modem of similar model to that of this box (another box running FC2). /dev/ttyS0 works here. The modem is connected to serial port.
