I know it must be easy to do, but I can't see how to enable multiple desktops in KDE. I have left and right clicked the desktop, the taskbar, searched System Settings, but I can't find how to do it.
The gnome combination ctrl alt arrow key doesn't get me anywhere.
Hi. It starts with a default of 4, if you have a mousewheel rolling it on the d-top (or pager) works or you need to add a d-top pager to the panel should also be in systems settings under workspaces... best wishes and have fun. (Edit)

With KDE you can have your virtual desktops and a relatively new feature called, "activites." On the panel at the bottom left side of the screen should be 3 colored dots. Click on those or on any blank spot on the desktop right click, a menu should pop up, and then left click on "activities."
You can setup new activities with different wallpaper, different icons, etc., and name and save each "activity" and it will be available the next each time you need it. I guess, if one wanted to have a separate desktop, e.g., word processing, he could have an "activity" with just the icons on the desktop for word processing related applications, and so on.

Solved: This is KDE Plasma. To set desktops go to System Settings>Workspace behaviour>Virtual Desktops
There you can set the number of desktops and the keys to switch desktops. By default it was set to 1. I like 9. To switch I set ctrl+alt+relevant arrowkey to go left right up or down.
By the way each Virtual Desktops can have its own setup like cwizardone mentions or by setting allow different widgets on d-tops. I use to have my main switch pictures and the next two for weather\news and then full screen application launcher, bloatware does rhyme with cycles to spare.
