i use either XMMS (with the mp3 plug in)

there is an artical here http://home.gagme.com/greg/linux/fc3-tips.php on how to do that

or Rhythmbox (http://www.rhythmbox.org/) with the gstreamer plug in (FC3 instructions here http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/download/fedora.html)

I had the same problem

hope this helps
