I'm trying to get my Windows XP desktop to recognize my Fedora Core 6 laptop on my LAN. When I first got Fedora working on my laptop I just setup the network to point my laptop towards the desktop and use it as a gateway for internet access. This worked great but the network couldn't see the Fedora laptop. I tried to setup the local hosts on the DNS tab but now I can't get internet access. I have the DNS setup with my laptop as localdomain.localhost with an ip of 192.168.0.2 and my desktop as Fake with an I.P. of 192.168.0.1. I setup a small network called "GAMES" with these two I.P.'s in it. What am I doing wrong?

Undo your changes and use samba server for the Windows system to "see" the Linux system. it is also a good idea to give the Linux system a name, for example as root type along the lines of;
