Just installed somthing, and...


Ok i just installed my copy of Maya.

erm it all went fine, but like where the hell is it?

If you know what the program is called, type it at a command-line. A first guess would be 'maya'.

i type maya at the 'run application' interface.

ANd it seemed to accept it, but nothing happend. i was watchin the reasource monitor to see if somthing was working in theb ackground.

How can i find the installation file?

Try running things at a terminal window, so you can see what's going on. Once you know the name of the file (say, /usr/bin/maya), you don't need to type the whole path, just the program's name. You can make a shortcut this way too.

OR you can go to the search for files thing in the 'start' menu (yes i am a windoze user ) Just put in Maya and change the search directory to '/', itll find it and give you the directory
