just installed Fedora 14, but nothing in grub.conf?!
I have just installed a new hard drive with Fedora 14. How can I edit it when my kernel version is 2.6.35.12-88.fc14.i686.PAE? I want to dualboot with Windows XP? thanks.
Here's what I tried:
default=0
timeout=15
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
hiddenmenu
OK. I got the grub menu now, but
1. When I clicked on Fedora 14, it said Error 17: Cannot mount selected partition
2. When I clicked on Windows XP , it said Error 21: Selected disk not connected [it's connected as the secondary HDD]

Well you installed a new drive .
What kind of drives sata or pata .
When you installed Fedora on the first boot able drive and GRUB is written in MBR than Fedora should boot and that is it .
And it might be that it did not find windows and than we have to add windows in grub.conf
The first boot able drive during install of Fedora Hd0 and the other is Hd1
with XP i would use one of the older "how to's" that use the " dd " command and Microsoft’s "boot.ini "
-- the DEFAULT fedora install ---
also fedora should have auto detect xp on sda and auto add it to the grub.conf as "other" when fedora is installed on sdb .Then put grub ( /boot) on the MBR of sda
