Invalid port info :) happy for any help

Salam

I am using fedora core 4 . I am working on an ethernet and ssh entries is allowed without passwords, and i am able to ping between my hosts.

I am getting this error when trying to enter a host from another using a program called (mpdboot)

This what i got

mpdboot-sara.project (handle-mpd-output 388): from mpd on 10.1.1.30 invalid port info.

by the way,, info about hosts suppost to be taken from this file which contains hostnames.
if hostnames are not enough what can i add to the file?

can any one guess the problem..
Thank in advance

To be honest it looks like either you or the program are providing it with either no port information or incorrect port information. I am not familiar with that application however you could look into what port you are supposed to be accessing it on and try that. Not sure what your knowledge of *nix is like but you normally supply IPv4 addresses and ports as:

192.168.2.4:6999

with 6999 being the port and 192.168.2.4 being the IP address.

Hope this helps.
Chris
