How can I search a special variable name in vim?

Hi,
How can I search a special variable name in vim?
second,If I have edited a class decleration in a .h file and the class definition in a .cpp file, and have written the main part of my program in
another .cpp file, how can I automatically access the definition of one of my functions in the first .cpp to see which arguments are passed to the function?
Thanks.

Not quite sure what "special" character you're talking about.

However, for instance, say you have a text file that was written under windows and is no on your unix box. At the end of the lines you'll see a ^M, to delete those you'd do something like this

:s/^V^M//

Where that's a control V then a control M, that will create the character...so if it's something like that ?

Otherwise, I'd open the keyboard character thing that has all the special characters in it, you might be able to copy that and paste it in to vi and have it do it's magic.
