home intruder system needed.

looking for hardware and software for a linux [fedora] based home intruder system:

Requirements:
  1. PIR detectors must be capable of being activated on moment detection.
  2. PIRs must send images to suitable application running on linux PC.
  3. Application must be capable of capturing images from any activated PIR.
  4. Application must be capable of uploading images to website/youTube or similar.
a quick google reveals many options but has anyone here actually got something working and working well - I'm after a crib/cheat here to save some time.

Zone alarm is probably the name you hear most often. It does not use a Passive Infrared Detector (PIR) but instead it looks at the image and sees if it has changed(motion).

Edit: Try zone minder not zone alarm.
