I don't know if I'm wrong, but fedora 10 seems to prefer Pulseaudio over Alsa (Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong! I don't want to spread false information). But maybe if you take a look at that link below, it could help you solve your problem.

Try alsamixer

Give the 'alsamixer' command line tool a run.

I found this revealed controls for all the audio card features. Some mixer guis hide features for simplicity.

Fedora core 10 sound problems

I recently installed fc10 x86_64 and was driving myself nuts trying to get sound. Turns out that not all the newest sound cards are supported. Using a new mother board with a built in Intel Corporation 82801JI (ICH10 Family) HD Audio Controller was just impossible, nothing after trying all the how-tos on the internet. So I put in an old PCI sound card and got instant gratification. The one I am using is
Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq 5880B [AudioPCI] (rev 04)
Subsystem: Ensoniq Sound Blaster 16PCI 4.1ch

Had to post this somewhere. This thread seemed apt.
